Who we are
Orbit & Icon operates goodsaving.shop. This policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information when you visit our store, place an order or contact us.
Orbit & Icon is the data controller for the personal information we process in running our store. You can contact us at hello@goodsaving.shop or write to Orbit & Icon, 14 Banbury, Washington, NE37 3AY, United Kingdom.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use our store, we collect:
-
Your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address and telephone number.
-
Order details, products purchased, payment and transaction information, delivery updates and return or refund information.
-
Account information if you create a customer account, and messages you send us.
-
Device and browsing information, including your IP address, browser, pages and products viewed, shopping-cart activity, cookie identifiers and privacy preferences.
We receive information directly from you, automatically through our website, and from Shopify, payment services and fulfilment partners when they process your order or support our store. Payment details are handled through Shopify and the payment providers involved in your purchase.
We need certain information, such as a delivery address and payment details, to fulfil an order. If you do not provide the information needed for a purchase, we may be unable to complete it.
How and why we use information
We use personal information for the following purposes and lawful bases:
-
To fulfil our contract with you: processing orders and payments, arranging printing and delivery, handling returns and refunds, and providing order-related support.
-
To meet legal obligations: keeping necessary financial records, handling statutory rights and responding to lawful requests.
-
For our legitimate interests: keeping our store secure, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, responding to general enquiries and maintaining reliable services. We consider your rights and interests when relying on this basis.
-
With your consent where required: using advertising and analytics cookies or similar tracking, personalised advertising, and sending marketing communications.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew consent.
Who receives your information
We share relevant information with the organisations needed to operate our store:
-
Shopify and payment providers: hosting the store, processing purchases, supporting customer accounts and providing related services.
-
Gelato and its production and delivery partners: printing, dispatching and delivering your purchases.
-
Meta: advertising and measurement, as explained below.
-
Email and technical service providers, including Fasthosts: handling customer correspondence and supporting our services.
-
Professional advisers, regulators and other authorities: where necessary for legal obligations, protecting rights or resolving claims.
Service providers receive information relevant to their role. Some providers also act as independent data controllers for particular activities, as explained in their own privacy notices.
Shopify
Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes information about your access to and use of the store to provide and improve its services. Information about your interactions may be shared with Shopify and service providers located in other countries.
Where Shopify enhanced services are enabled, they may use information about your activity in our store, with other merchants and with Shopify to personalise experiences, improve services, measure performance and provide relevant advertising. Consent is required for the relevant advertising and tracking activities where applicable.
Shopify is responsible for certain processing it carries out for its own purposes. Read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy for details. You can learn about and exercise privacy choices directly with Shopify, including withdrawing consent or objecting to relevant processing, through the Shopify Privacy Portal.
Facebook and Instagram advertising
We use the Facebook & Instagram by Meta integration, including the Meta Pixel, advanced matching and Conversions API, to understand shopping activity, measure advertising results and improve ad relevance.
Subject to your consent where required, information shared with Meta may include browsing and purchase activity, your name, location, email address and telephone number. This helps match activity to Meta accounts and measure advertising.
You can manage relevant tracking choices through our website’s cookie preferences and manage advertising preferences within your Meta account. Meta explains its processing in the Meta Privacy Policy.
Cookies and marketing choices
Cookies and similar technologies help the website function, remember preferences and, where permitted, support analytics and advertising.
Essential technologies support functions such as the shopping cart, checkout and security. We ask for consent before using non-essential analytics and advertising technologies where required by law. You can change your choices through the cookie preferences on our website. Browser settings also let you manage cookies, although blocking essential cookies may affect shopping features.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the email, or contact hello@goodsaving.shop. This does not stop essential messages about an order you have placed.
International processing
Our service providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards for a transfer, these include an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual protections, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Contact hello@goodsaving.shop for further information about relevant transfers and how to obtain details of the safeguards.
How long we keep information
Retention depends on the reason information was collected. We keep order and transaction records for the periods needed to complete purchases, meet accounting and legal obligations, and handle returns, disputes or legal claims.
We retain correspondence for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any related obligations. Privacy and marketing-preference records may need to be retained so we can respect your choices.
We assess retention using the purpose of the information, applicable legal record-keeping periods and whether an unresolved matter requires it. Information should be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including using established providers for our store, payments and email. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please keep any account credentials confidential.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to:
-
Access your personal information and receive a copy.
-
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
-
Request deletion or restriction of processing.
-
Receive certain information in a portable format.
-
Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
Your right to object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including relevant profiling. You can object to direct marketing at any time.
To exercise your rights, email hello@goodsaving.shop. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will explain any applicable limits to a request. For example, we may need to retain records required by law.
Complaints
Please contact hello@goodsaving.shop if you have concerns about our handling of your information. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit the ICO complaints page for contact details and how to raise a concern.
Other websites and policy changes
Other websites linked from our store have their own privacy practices. Please review their notices when using those services.
We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The latest version will be available here with an updated date, and we will provide further notice where required.
